I’m using this on my boat like advertised but am baffled by the small size of clamp included for the stern pulpit on my boat. Almost all boats have 1 inch dia. pulpits and stantions. This is 3/4″ or less. It’s useless. However I did use the other with limited success.

This bracket is expensive given the quality of the bracket. However, there are several versions of clamps included which is great….if they fit your needs. Like the other reviewer says, if your application requires a bigger size, these will do you no good. The included clamps should have bigger ranges and tolerances to be more adaptable. I would buy this again, as it is simpler than building something myself.

This is a well made product and comes with enough mounting accessories to satisy most applications. I recommend this product, but it DOES NOT work with the COLEMAN CL-600 Solar Charger (both are ICP Solar products) as advertised. The COLEMAN CL-600 is several inches too long for this bracket. I was able to frabicate a simlple clamp for the panel which worked so I kept the mounting bracket and it is working well.

It isn’t trivial to replace the blade, the instructions describe a great way to keep the current blade from spinning while loosening the bolt holding it in. The installation of the new blade is easier and again, the instructions are complete and accurate.

This is the exact match for the original blade that comes on the MM875 mower. Although it’s hard to tell in the picture, it has the little curved ends just like the original blade. It’s easy to install, and even comes with instructions although it’s pretty obvious how to change it even without them. I had hit a rock and really messed up my original blade, so changing it out for this replacement blade made the mower cut just like it was new again.Replacement blades for these mowers can be hard to find. The store where I bought the mower didn’t have the blade, so I was glad to find it here on Amazon. I later discovered it at one of the big box home improvement stores, but it’s just as easy to get it here and have it delivered to your door.

You are supposed to sharpen the blade periodically. The manual suggests about twice in a cutting season. My lawn is so small that it may take a couple of seasons for that to be required. The real reason I call this my safety spare is that I am afraid that the technology will change before I need it. This keeps me from having to buy it on the after market. In the mean time it is oiled and hanging on the garage wall just incase I “accidentally” run over my neighbor’s pink flamingo ordainments and damage the blade. The description of this blade says that it fits “CMM1200″ lawn mowers. This isn’t completely true. There are three different models of the CMM1200: Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3. This blade will ONLY fit types 1 and 2. If you have a “Type 3″ version of the lawn mower, this blade will not fit – the hole is too small to fit over the screw. Instead you need to buy the “MB-1200″ blade, also available on amazon.I’m not sure how you can tell the difference between the types, but you should probably do some research to find out which type you have before ordering the wrong blade.I’m one-starring this based on the misleading description, not the quality of the product itself.

Blade works well and easy to slip on BUT you likely may have to order/obtain the surrounding parts which may well be in need of replacement as well. In my case, the plastic parts it sits on were cracked and prevented the blade from properly seating until replaced -time consuming if you don’t realize this upfront.

Previously I used my pocketknife and pliers. This is larger so your hand is further from the collected gunk on the tines. Worth using. If I lost it, I would buy it again. For really tangled gunk, it is easier to simply pull the cotter pin, remove the tines and pull off all the junk.

Okay, in one of my weaker moments, I bought this thing. It works fine – cleans out the tangled weeds around the hub. But I can’t believe I paid $20 for it. It’s not like it’s a magic wand or anything.I have an idea of how it would work even better. If the inside of the curved hook were knife-edged, it would slice through the weeds better, making them easier to remove. I would do this on my hook, but since I paid $20 for it, I feel that I would be modifying a piece of fine art or something… just can’t bring myself to do it.If I were to do this all over again (without money burning a hole in my pocket), I’d buy a piece of 5/16 or 3/8 round steel, heat it, bend it to match this shape, and put a point on the end. Then I would sharpen the inside of the curved hook. It would probably cost less than $5, and would do the exact same thing – except probably even better (with the sharpened curved hook). I would then take the leftover $15 and get myself some Thai food.I’m giving 4 stars simply because it costs more than it should.

Before you use your tiller, you will probably see the detangler as an overpriced plastic-coated wire. After you use your tiller, you will probably see the detangler as the thing that could have prevented a trip to the emergency room for stitches and a tetanus shot. The mantis tines are sharp, long, and closely packed: trying to navigate your hand through them to free a weed-choked shaft is suicidal. You’re going to have to clear the tines regularly, even if you have reducers. Using the detangler will save your skin, so I suggest you make the investment. And even with the detangler, I recommend you don’t go near the tines without hand protection. Use leather or cut-resistant gloves at least.

My neighbor just purchased a sharpener very similar to this one for 2X the price. His had a knurled chuck for the sharpening stone that could seldom be tightened or loosened by finger pressure so his is now chewed up from using pliers. His also has a button to lock the shaft for tightening and loosening, but the button is right where you have to grip the machine and he burned up the motor in 1 second before he realized what had happened. Buy this one: It comes with a wrench to tighten the chuck, and the shaft locks when you stick a sharpening stone into a hole in the side. What could be better

Bought a set of these blades for my 4 year old 38″ yard man at a better price, than I could purchase OMC blades at Lowes. . The blades were actually heavier than the original blades and were wider also. I wasn’t sure about the mounting hole or how it worked on the star shaft, but was surprised at how tightly it fit, with only a few passes of a triangle file to clean up the opening! Tried out the new blades on the old deck and was pleasantly surprised at how well the old lawn tractor cut. Looked as though I had used a high dollar mower!! Great blades at a real decent price!!

I bought two put one on Honda generator the other on wood splitter. On the generator it alows me to keep track of how long I can run on tank of gas and how much time I put on generator while camping so I know when to change oil. It was really suprising the hours put on during my 8 day trip, 40 hours need to change oil at 50 per manual. easy to install one wire to ground other wire wrap around spark plug wire

I have a few of these and they are well constructed and is easy to install. The problem I eventually had was the battery died. Having a LCD display, when the battery dies the readout goes blank and you do not know how many hours have lapsed since it was installed so you should check the reading periodically so that you at least have a rough idea of usage when the battery dies. It really bugged me to have to buy a new one just because the battery died so I “dremeled” it open and found that the 3v 2430 watch battery is replaceable. The battery is about $4.29 in most chain drugstores. Opening it up also allowed me to see how wellconstructed it is.

I have one of these on the motor of my Craftsman 42″ Deck Lawn Tractor and it works fine. All you have to do is wrap one wire around the spark plug wire and another gets attached to pretty much any uncoated screw/bolt on the equipment to ground it and it works. It does stay on all the time so the battery will have to be replaced at some point, but it’s only a little number display so it can’t use that much power. I’d definitely recommend it for any equipment that requires engine maintenance but doesn’t come with an hourmeter or an odometer.

The B&S Maintenance Minder works just as described. Installation is simple and anyone who can read the instructions can do it in 10 minutes or less. These types of units used to be available at every big box Home improvement store but lately have become harder to find locally. The only reason that I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because like the earlier versions the battery is sealed inside and non replaceable. After a year or so the display will no longer work and the unit will have to be replaced, thus losing the total time recorded on the item you want to moinitor. When the time comes I am hoping to take this one apart and see if I can’t replace the battery and customize the case so that it will be easily replaceable in the future.

I have one of these on a lawnmower and one on a brushcutter. On the lawnmower I attached the ground screw to one of the bolts that holds the engine to the deck. On the brush cutter I attached it underneath one of the screws that holds the engine cover to the frame. On the brush cutter I cut off the eyelet that came on it so it would fit under the screw better. The meter sticks well to the equipment with the integral two-sided tape and it records hours.

Not much to say except this works flawlessly and is a snap to install. One wire on the sparkplug wire and the other to a ground.I used small tie wraps on the sparkplug wire and to secure the ground wire,to eliminate possiblity of snags, and Two sided tape to secure the unit to my portable generator. This is my third one of these, One my garden tractor, trimming lawn mower and now generator. Can’t beat the price and reliability. This reset at random, thus rendering the meter useless. It was attached to a four-stroke 357cc snowthrower engine and seemed to work fine for the first 2.2 hours. Then after a work-out in some serious snow, I looked to find that it had reset and now read 0.1 hours. Thinking that I must have bumped it, I gave it another try. This time it counted to 1.6 and reset to 0.0 the next time I looked at it. I gave up and uninstalled it. The fact that you cannot change the battery and must buy a new meter (or hack the old one) is quite disappointing. Use at your own peril and write down the hours of use.
